Karen graduated with a Master's Degree from the Frontier Nursing School of Midwifery and the University of Kentucky in 1980 as a Certified Nurse-Midwife. She spent many years practicing at University of Southern California (USC) Medical Center where she was on the faculty, teaching both student midwives and physicians. She left Los Angeles to pursue a private practice in Klamath Falls and went on to pursue a position in Guam when her husband took a teaching position there. Karen joined Salem Nurse-Midwives in July 1994.
Karen and her husband Ed have two adult children and two grandchildren.

Nancy is a 1985 graduate of the nurse-midwifery program at Oregon Health Sciences University. She worked for three years in Harlingen, Texas, in birth centers that provided care to indigent Hispanic women - Su Clinica Familiar, Brownsville Maternity Center and Holy Family Birth Center. Nancy returned to Oregon for job opportunities at Salud Medical Center in Woodburn and OHSU. She has worked with Salem Nurse-Midwives, Inc., since it started December, 1990.
Nancy and her husband Bill have 2 children, Molly and John.

Louanne graduated from the University of Southern California in 1983 and has had experience in birth centers and with home births.She joined the midwifery service at LA County/University of Southern California after graduation, where she remained until 1996. She joined Salem Nurse-Midwives in December 1999 and has even been a midwife to many of her CNM friends.
She lives with her dog, Abel. Louanne spends her free time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and visiting nursing homes with her dog.
